Ike was raised in Logan, Iowa and graduated from Logan High School. Ike married Zola Beth Barnett on December 8, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa at Zoe’s aunt’s house. The couple farmed in Harrison County. Ike served on the Woodbine school board, ASC, and for 20 years he was a hail crop adjuster. He also served as a Harrison County Supervisor for 14 years and active in the Democratic party. Ike was a member of the Logan Masonic Lodge, the Missouri Valley Triune Masonic Lodge, the Tangier Shriners, and the Woodbine United Methodist Church Ike died peacefully at this home on September 15, 2005, attaining the age of 80 years, 10 months, and two days. Ike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Reuben Leonard. He is survived by his wife, Zoe of Logan; two sons, John Leonard and his wife Manon of Lagoes Nigeria, Africa, Bob Leonard and his wife Janet of Odebolt, Iowa; daughter, Jane and her husband Rodney Weis of College Station, Texas; grandchildren Trudi and her husband Erik Sorenson, Mike Weis and his wife Jennifer, Traci Weis, Dan Leonard, Bryan Leonard, Margot` Leonard; great granddaughters Miranda and Erika; special exchange student son, Ed Kremer and his wife Carol and family of Luxembourg; two sisters, Nell Wilcox of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Maxine Lloyd of Richland, Washington; brother-in-law Bruce Barnett and his wife Virginia of Underwood, Iowa; the staff at Logan’s Welhome Health Care and the staff of the Alegent Health Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
