He was born on Feb. 12, 1934 in Oelwein, Iowa. Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents: Dietrich and Thelma; stepmother: Ruth; sister: Dawn; and brother: Richard. Survivors include his wife: Janiece; children: John of Omaha, Neb., Julia and her husband Walt Bryan of Walnut; June and her husband Scott Chanley of Council Bluffs; James and his wife KerriAnn of Papillion, Neb., and Jesse of Shelby; seven grandchildren; Jonathon, Thomas, Diana, Jeffery, Derek, Austin, and Nicole; sister: Bonnie and husband Richard Timmermann; and brothers: Robert, David, Dietrich, and Charles. There will be no funeral or burial services due to cremation. A prayer visitation, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1 from 6pm to 8pm at the Shelby Community Center.
