'Bud' Kruse ©Daily Nonpareil 03/09/2006 Warren B. "Bud" Kruse, 71, of Council Bluffs, passed away March 7, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. He was born May 29, 1934 in Sioux City to Clarence and Dorothy (Wiedeman) Kruse, he had resided here most of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school. He graduated from Dana College, and attended University of Iowa in Deaf Education. He began his teaching and coaching career at Shelby-Tennant, then Hamburg, Council Bluffs Public Schools and 20 years at Iowa School For The Deaf. He retired in 1989 after 31 years service. He served in the U.S. Army in 1957-59. He was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church; Excelsior Lodge No. 259 AF & AM; Tangier Shrine; Scottish Rite; Botna Valley Shrine Club; Rainbow Post No. 2 American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sandra (Lamb) Kruse; daughter, Kristy and husband, Tom Harm; sons, Brad and wife, Hanne; Tom and wife, Annette, all of Council Bluffs; brother, Jim Kruse and wife, Pat, of Alameda, Calif.; sisters, Sue and husband, Roger Hem- mingsen, of Neola, Marie Lindon and special friend, Allen Havick, of Shelby, Virginia "Cookie" and husband, Bob Johnson, of Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Excelsior Lodge No. 259 will conduct a Masonic Service Friday at 6 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel, followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint John Lutheran Church with the Rev. E. Jon Benson, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery where the American Legion will conduct military rites. A luncheon will follow at Saint John Lutheran Church. FUNERAL SERVICES Sat 10:30am at St. John Lutheran Church, Rev. E. Jon Benson, Pastor, will Officiate. Intemrent Memorial Park Cemetery, where Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
