Brown is survived by her brother, Art VanderMeulen, and sister, Betty (Dean) Rasmussen, all of Council Bluffs. Ruth was born in Lake City, Iowa. She was a beautician and a data processor. Survivors include brother, Art VanderMeulen of Council Bluffs; sister, Betty Rasmussen and husband, Dean, of Council Bluffs. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2006, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 18, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Avoca. Burial following service in Graceland Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa.
