'Lud' Larsen ©Daily Nonpareil 03/04/2006 Blaine C. "Lud" Larsen, age 79, of Council Bluffs, passed away March 3, 2006, at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. He was born in Council Bluffs on February 19, 1927, to Andrew and Ella (Turner) Larsen. He was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, served in the U.S. Marines in WWII, a member of Cobia Lodge No. 631 AF & AM and of the Lutheran faith. Blaine was a clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for over 45 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia M. "Holly," in 1993; son, Donald R. Larsen, in 1974; brother, Bernard; and sister, Beverly "Dolly" Gogan. He is survived by sons, Dan C. Larsen and wife, Barbara, and Dale Larsen, and wife, Toni; daughter, Kathy Morin and husband, Rusty, all of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Todd Larsen, Melissa Taylor, Rikki Rodenburg and Becky Rodenburg; brother, Raymond Larsen; and sister Helen "Toots" Bell, both of Omaha; nieces and nephews. A Masonic Service by Cobia Lodge will be held Sunday at 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Dr. E.A. Hering officiating. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the Masonic Temple. Memorials may be offered to Salem Lutheran Home, Elk Horn, Iowa.
