Nissen, 58, died at his home at 1005 North Spruce Street at 4:25 a.m. today (04 May 1962). His death followed a seven-month illness. Mr. Nissen had lived at Prescott, Corning, and Cromwell before moving to Creston in 1955. He had lived here since 1955. He was a farmer and salesman. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Methodist Church here. Rev. Azel L. Smith, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery at Cromwell. His body will lie in state at Coens Home for Funerals until it is taken to the church for the services Monday. His family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Warren Dale Nissen was born at Jacksonville, (Shelby County), Iowa, Aug. 24, 1903. He was the son of John and Ester Martensen Nissen. He was married at Creston, Jan. 27, 1923, to Joye McCreedy. He lived at Prescott from 1940 to 1942, at Corning from 1942 to 1947 and at Cromwell from 1947 until 1955 when he moved to Creston. He was a member of the Methodist church. Mr. Nissen is survived by his widow, Joye, a son, Shelby Nissen of Inglewood, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Orlo (Mary Jane) Tyler of near Afton and Mrs. Merton (JoAnn) Hood of Creston; and two brothers, John Nissen of Creston and Peter Nissen of Afton.
