Milo died May 14, 2006 at the Salem Lutheran Homes in Elk Horn, IA and is survived by his sons, Charles (Helen) Palm of Omaha, NE, Eugene (Rose) Palm of Ottumwa, IA, and Donald (Joyce) Palm of Monroe, IA; his son-in-law, Robert Urey of Edinburg, TX; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grand-children; and four great-great-grandchildren. Family visitation services will be Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the church. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Elk Horn Baptist Church in Elk Horn, IA with burial in the Exira Cemetery in Exira. Buckley Milo Paul Buckley, the son of John Franklin and Inez Scott Buckley, was born March 3, 1930 in Atlantic, and died May 14, 2006 at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn at the age of 76 years, two months and 11 days. Milo attended school in Atlantic and later in Anita. He was employed as a truck driver for several truck lines for several years. On Aug. 28, 1948 he was united in marriage to Erma Phippen Palm in Adel. They lived in Anita for a short time, then they moved to Omaha, Neb., where Milo was a truck driver for LeRoy Wade Trucking. They moved to Des Moines, Anita, Atlantic, and settled in Elk Horn. They operated a truck repair business in Exira, then moved the business to Kimballton where he operated the business until the early 1990’s when he retired. During retirement he drove a truck for A.M. Cohron and Son, Inc., trucking until he was forced to retire due to failing health. Milo moved to the Salem Lutheran Home in 2003 and Erma joined him in July of 2004. Erma died Dec. 20, 2004. Milo continued to live at the Salem Lutheran Home. He was a member of the Kimballton Volunteer Fire Department and the V.F.W. Preceding him in death in addition to his wife, Erma Buckley, were his daughter, Dixie Urey; his son, Robert Lee Palm; his grandson, Patrick Palm; his parents; and brother and sisters: Laura Hogueison, Rosemary Paulson, and Clifford Buckley. Survivors include his sons, Charles and wife Helen Palm of Omaha, Neb., Eugene and wife Rose Palm of Ottumwa, Donald and wife Joyce Palm of Monroe, his son-in-law, Robert Urey of Edinburg, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Lloyd Carl and wife Sylvia Buckley of Trout, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Gavin King on Thursday, May 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Elk Horn. A private interment will be held at a later date in the Exira Cemetery in Exira. Casketbearers will be Simon Corzine, Jacob Corzine, Zach Phippen, Matt Phippen, Shawn Palm, Michael Palm, Greg Palm, and Chris Palm. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Elk Horn. The Kessler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
