Irvin was born in Buck Grove, Iowa. He graduated highschool in 1939 from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Dunlap, Iowa. He was a farmer for several years, 3rd Degree member of the Earling Council No. 1741, Knights of Columbus and a 4th Degree member of the Luke E. Hart Assembly Knights of Columbus and its Chalice Club. Irvin was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Julia Rosman Heller in 2001. Survivors include daughters, Julia Renee (James) Bolejack, Mary (Jeff) Segin, both of Ankeny, Iowa, Ann (Dr. Laurence) Hanigan, of Omaha, Neb.; sons, Dr. Irv (Frankie) Heller, Jr., of Guthrie, Okla., David (Bonnie) Heller, Daniel Heller and Joan Goetz, both of Irwin; sisters, Augusta "Gustie" Esser, Marie Heller, both of Dunlap; brother, Peter Heller, of Dunlap; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday noon to 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-9 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home with Wake Service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Harlan. Burial in Harlan Cemetery.
