Madsen ©Daily Nonpareil 05/23/2006 Betty A. Madsen, 81, of Council Bluffs, passed away May 21, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She was born May 28, 1924, in Elk Horn, Iowa, to the late Thorwald and Ruth (Hansen) Madsen, she had resided here for the past 70 years. She was a Child Care Provider, and a life member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Betty will be remembered by her inquisitive nature and extraordinary memory and love of family and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters, Alice McKeague and Ethel O'Donnell; brothers, Ralph Madsen, Richard Madsen and Arndt Rudolph Madsen. Survivors include her brother, Roger Madsen and wife Shirley; sisters, Dorothy Clark and husband Russell, all of Council Bluffs, Irene Lewis, of Pocatello, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Mary Madsen and Arlene Madsen, both of Council Bluffs; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday (tonight) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Rev. Jonathon Kosec, Pastor, will officiate. A luncheon will be served at the church following the funeral service. The cortege will depart at 1 p.m. for the burial at Elk Horn, Iowa, Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to either Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Bethany Lutheran Home.
