Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zk.2ADI/1939.1 Message Board Post: Funeral Card - To Those I Love And Those Who Love Me When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so much to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you cannot guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown. But now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on; So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be there. And if you listen with your heart you'll hear All my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home." In Loving Memory of THOMAS P. They also invite you to stay for a time of fellowship and lunch following this memorial service. Donald Eugene Densmore was born June 15, 1922 to George & Hattie (Miller) Densmore in Defiance, Iowa. Don was one of a kind. Everyone in town as well as his relatives referred to him as Big Daddy. He was strong as an ox and he had a heart of gold. Big Daddy was always willing to help out his neighbors and friends. If Don liked you, chances are he had a nick name for you. He was often spotted driving into town for coffee and a bull session in his signature overalls, sometimes with his canine companion riding shotgun. But his happiest days were spent on the farm. Anyone trying to convince him to treat himself to a trip or a vacation would have met resistance. He didn’t like to get too far from home. At his age one of his worries had been the prospect of declining health making it necessary to leave the farm someday. We can take comfort in the fact that Big Daddy got his wish and was able to work on his farm up to his last day on this earth. Don died Monday July 18, 2005, at his home near Dunlap, at the age of 83 years, one month, and 12 days. Don was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; five brothers; and five nephews. He was survived by nieces and nephews, Eunabelle, Elaine, Marjorie, Darlene, Darrell, Dale, Gaylord, Larry, Jerry, Donna, Dick, Randy, Nancy, Carol Dean, Denny, Diane, Pat, Elton, Karen and Jeff.
