My Grandmother's sister was Violet, and her second husband was a Schmidt. They came from Red Oak, Iowa, and I know Violet lived for a time in New York, but I think she came back to Iowa. I have a picture of my Violet Schmidt (but I think she went to school much ealier than the 30's). So, the ages may not be right. D.
