    1. Re: [IASCOTT] Wills
    2. If you're looking for someone who died in Scott Co., and have an idea of about when the person died, I'd think a call to the Clerk of Court's office at the courthouse should do it. Some courthouses have grouped their entire probate files into one comprehensive database (wills, estate files, orphans court settlements, etc.). I don't know if Scott County is like this, but it wouldn't hurt to call them. The courthouse is at 416 W. Fourth St. The Clerk of Courts office number is: (563) 326-8649 x. 8419. I'd call them early in the day before they get busy; chances are some nice person can do a quick check. They can also give you the fee for copies, etc. Again, your best success will be in already knowing about when your ancestor died. The pre-1928 will index is posted on the Scott Co. Iowa Genealogy page. I take it your person is a more recent decedent than that. David in Richmond, VA
