TEMPLE EMANUEL Temple Emanuel church was organized in 1861 and the congregation erected a temple on the corner of Ripley and Fourth, which was dedicated in 1884.  The congregation's new church on the corner of Eleventh and Brady was dedicated in 1906.  The first rabbi was Isaac Fall.  He was succeeded by Rabbi Freuder.  Then came Rabbi Maurice Thorner.  In 1900 W. H. Fineshriber assumed the pastorate and is the present rabbi.  The congregation is made up of seventy-five families of Davenport, Rock Island and Moline.  Fifty children attend Sunday school.
