IA Christina Dose, mother, 71, widow, married 34 yrs, b. Germany, gave birth to 4 children, 3 survived. In the 1930 census, Norwalk Twp., Pott. Co., Theodore Dose, age 21, is a hired hand on the Howell Phillips farm. In the 1930 census, Valley Twp., Pott. Co., Harry Dose, age 25, is a boarder, doing general farm work, on the Charles Gielnecke farm. I checked my 1913 atlas and don't find Detlef Dose in either Norwalk, Valley, or Washington Twp., nor near Treynor. It's interesting, though, that in Carroll Co., an early settler was Christian DOHSE, who was a neighbor to a DOWNS family in that Co., and then those two names connect again in Pott. Co. Just a thought. I hope this helps you a little.
