Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Vl.2ADE/240.1.1 Message Board Post: I don't have the census record for 1910 on James. I was going by T.D.'s obituary, which listed him there. The only children of his I know of were Carrie, Charles, and Mayme. They were all born while they were in Thurman. I assume the Mamie Thornton you mentioned was the one living in the Amasa Beason household, with Oris. Oris is actually Forest Orris Thornton, my grandparents. James and Amasa are both his half-brothers, even though the census incorrectly listed him as Amasa's "brother-in-law". Understandable, since Amasa had a different father, so different last name. James was from their father's first marriage, Forest from the second. And Amasa was from Forest's mother's first marriage. So James and Amasa are step-brothers. What a mess, eh? The other Thorntons I don't recognize, and they don't appear to be related.
