Johnson, 90, of Medford, Oregon, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at Three Fountains Nursing Center. Private entombment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford. He was born March 11, 1911, in Avoca, Iowa. On August 2, 1930, in Atlantic, Iowa, he married Viola M. LaRette, who died in 1998. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1942 from Iowa. Mr. Johnson was a lieutenant with the Medford Fire Department, retiring after 26 years. He enjoyed fishing and watching boxing on television. Survivors include a daughter, Dolores M. Hanscom, South Beach; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
