M. Underwood of Hardin Dies Widely Known Farmer Has Numerous Survivors. Native of this City John M. Underwood, 69, well known farmer of Hardin township and resident of Pottawattamie county all his life, died Thursday at a local hospital after two years illness of heart disease. He was born in Council Bluffs. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, Amber No. 569, of Quick. Besides his widow, Minnie Underwood, he leaves four sons, William, Walter, John and Samuel Underwood, all of Hardin township; three daughters, Mrs. A. R. Peterson of Omaha, Mrs. J. R. Casson of York township and Mrs. Harold A. Chambers of Keg Creek township: twenty-five grandchildren; three brothers, William, Herbert J. and Fay L. Underwood, all of Council Bluffs, and three sisters, Mrs. E. H. Benton, Mrs. W. A. Lewis and Miss Anna Underwood, all of Council Bluffs. The body was removed to Cutler's mortuary.
