I went to ancestry.com with excitement only to find that for some reason my family I am looking for on the 1885 census aren't there. It seems that Pottawatamie Co, IA; Council Bluffs area, Henry Co, Mt. Pleasant and Des Moines Co., Burlington are the ones that I need. Anyone have access to state censuses for ANY or all of these above areas?? I am looking for: Samuel R. Parker (S R PARKER) b. 1854, Marietta, OH, he would be about 31 or 32 +/- in 1885. He most likely could be found in Council Bluffs, Pottawatamie Co.... BUT "Maybe" enumerated with or near his father and sisters, etc in Henry Co, Mt. Pleasant or Des Moines Co., Burlington. His father's name is: John J Parker ( JJ PARKER) b. 1824, Harmar (Marietta) OH, He would be abt age of 61 +/- He would be listed as a Widow since his wife died 1880 in Mt Pleasant, IA (Henry Co.) JJ Parker's wife was Parmelia Augusta Ellenwood Parker, b. 1824, OH, died 1880, IA daughter: Augusta Parker, m. S. L. Daniels son: Samuel R. (S.R.) Parker, m. Anna/Annie B. Clark(e) in Council Bluffs, IA, 1888 son: John T. Parker, born, OH son: William, b. VA in 1863 daughter: Anna/Annie Parker, b. 1865 +/-, m. ___ Kean, 2nd m. ____Rosenbalm (?), 3rd m. _____Daniels (brother of sister's husband) in IA ****** THIS FAMILY MOVED TO IA in 1863, SEEMS MOSTLY THEY LIVED IN OR AROUND HENRY CO, Mt. Pleasant, Centerville areas and MOSTLY IN BURLINGTON, DES MOINES CO.< IA...... If any of them are found on the 1885, 1895, etc censuses I would really appreciate it! I do have ancestry.com and can look up some names for others but seems that only certain counties are now available at that source. Peace, cheers, and lot of happiness, brian w williams new orleans Bri4Bri@aol.com
