Actually, now that I read it directly from the book, that's exactly how the bio reads. The first sentence says "JOSEPH HEADLEE, the oldest living settler of Valley Township..." but then in a later paragraph it states "Joshua Headlee, the subject of this sketch..." Obviously a printer or transcription error on behalf of the book publisher. This biography apparently outlines the family for Joseph Headlee, son of Elisha, and Elisha was the son of Joseph Headlee. To help validate whether the bio is for Joseph or Joshua Headlee, I checked the 1880 census for Pott. Co., and it lists JOSEPH HEADLEE (not Joshua) as being married to Esther and his having been born in Pennsylvania about 1826. So, it appears that the publisher made a mistake in calling him Joseph in later paragraphs. I apologize for the confusion. Mona Sarratt Knight
