    2. simunneg
    3. Is there a census index for 1850 Pottawattamie Co., IA? Trying to track one of several Mormon families across the US and back again. Her husband William supposedly died 14 Aug 1849 in Council Bluffs. In 1851 her children are living in Salt Lake City, UT. Susanna died 18 Oct 1864, but I don't know where. If you have access to the index, could you please provide a lookup? Susanna's maiden name was WEBSTER, but I don't know if any other family members came to the states. WARD, Susannah (age 58) If you would like to see how I connect to this family and others, my web page is at: http://www.widomaker.com/~simunneg/ thank you, Diane Bollert

    1. Rufus AUSTIN
    2. Edward A. Scriven
    3. My ggggrandmother, Elizabeth CRAIG, maiden name HASTINGS, died in Garner Township on 19 Jan 1896 at the age of 91 and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in Council Bluffs. Her obituary said she was living with her daughter Mrs. Rufus AUSTIN. I would like to find information on Rufus and his wife. If they remained there until they died, I would like to find out the date and place of death for each of them. I do not know which of Elizabeth's daughters married Rufus AUSTIN. It should be either Mary, Sarah Elvira, or Grace Mariah, and very unlikely but still possible it could be Rachel. The CRAIG family was from Mercer County, PA, and it is very likely the AUSTIN family was from western PA as well. If anyone has information about this family, please let me know. Ed Scriven

    1. SNYDER/McGLAUGHLIN/PIERCE
    2. William C. Winter
    3. We've just joined this list hoping to find out more about the SNYDER family. M. B. Snyder, M.D.(1856-1937) was a physician and also mayor of Council Bluffs. He was married twice, his first wife was Susan McGlaughlin Snyder, M. D. (1860-1915). His second wife, Burkella Pierce Snyder (1873-1946), is our line. We would like to correspond with someone who has done more research than we have been able to do to this point. Recently, we briefly visited Council Bluffs and were able to locate their tombstone in Fairview Cemetery and their home. We would particularly like to obtain an obituary for "Uncle M.B" or for his first wife, Susan. We are aware that they had no children. Any help would be appreciated. Bill and Kay Winter
