Funeral services were held in Sacred Heart church in Ayrshire this (Thursday) morning, with the pastor, Father McCoy, in charge. The pallbearers, all grandnephews, were: Sherlock Hartnett, Edward and John Joyce, Gene Bough, Robert Eagan and Bernard Burke. Burial was made at Ayrshire, with the Martin Funeral Home in charge. The deceased was born in Ontario, Canada, December 8, 1856. Thus she was 80 years of age. She came to Silver Lake township, this county in 1871, and resided on a farm until 1925 during which year she moved to the town of Ayrshire, where she continued to keep house for her brother. She was one of the early schoool teachers of this county. Surviving are two brothers, P. H. of Emmetsburg and James, of Ayrshire. Lack of space forbids fitting eulogy to the worthy life of Miss Sherlock in this week's issue. Suffice to say she was an admirable Christian character, who died richly deserving eternal happiness.
