E. church of which she has been a consistent and faithful member through a long and useful life.   She was married to Adam H. Gift, July 23, 1839, to which union were born eleven children, seven of whom are living; J. W. Gift, in Peoria, Ill, T. H. Gift, in Portage Laprairie, Canada, Mrs. J. A. Gray, in Red Oak, Iowa, Mrs. J. McNary and Mrs. G. W. Batie, in Ruthven; Mrs. J. DeLancey and Mrs. A. J. Cain, in Winthrope, Washington.       The deceased moved from Pennsylvania to Maquoketa, Iowa, in the year 1857. Her husband died at Prairieburg, Iowa in 1881. The deceased has lived in Ruthven twenty four years. An example of piety in whose life the christian graces were observed in a marked degree, until December 1st when her spirit plumed its wings for the better land, and her heavenly reward. The funeral was conducted on Tuesday morning i the home of J. McNary by the pastor of the M. E. church and the remains were laid to rest in the Ruthven cemetery.
