MARTI Services for Annie K. Marti, West Bend, were Wednesday, February 10, 1988 at Saint Peter and Paul's Catholic Church with the Rev. Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial was at West Bend Cemetery. Schellhammer Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Casket bearers were: Richard Kisch, Donald Girres, Robert Marti, Glenn Wilson, John Marti, and Paul Marti. Annie K. Marti, daughter of William and Ann (Heiderscheid) Marnach was born March 27, 1889 at St. Joseph, Iowa, where she was raised and educated. She married Jacob Marti April 9, 1912 in West Bend and the couple lived in the Rodman and West Bend area their entire lives. Mr. Marti died February 5, 1942 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Annie was a homemaker and served as a cook at Saint Peter and Paul's School for 10 years. She had resided in the West Bend Care Center since 1982 and died there Monday, February 8, 1988, having reached the age of 98 years. Her survivors include, 5 daughters; Mrs. Agnes Girres, Graettinger, Iowa, Mrs. Anna Bonnstetter, Whittemore, Iowa, Mrs. Susan Kisch, West Bend, Iowa, Mrs. Emil (Mary) Metzger, West Bend, Iowa, and Mrs. Bertha Wilson of West Bend. Her sons; Eugene of West Bend, Henry E., West Bend, and John J. of Irvington, Iowa. Thirty-six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as great great grandchildren survive. One sister, Mrs. Lena Gabrielson of Inkster, Michigan also survives. Mrs. Marti was a member of Saint Peter and Paul's Catholic Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was also a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandson, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
