Ia Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Page/244 Surname: Wray, Theime, Pine, Gallup, Fletcher, Mentzer ------------------------- I just got a pension file for Robert Taylor Wray of Pennsylvania, Iowa and Illinois. His second wife applied for a pension on his account after the death of her second husband. Louisa Thieme married Franklin John Pine in Kirksville, Missouri in 1882. Six years after that he was killed in Shenandoah, Page county. The affidavit is quoted below. His wife applied for a pension on the account of her first husband and in the file is an affidavit signed by C.E. Fletcher and John Mentzer both of Shenandoah, Page county, Iowa. They testified “That on the 11th day of August 1888, one Frank Pine, then a resident of the town, now city of Shenandoah, Page county, Iowa and with whom they were both personally acquainted, was reported shot and killed by one Frank Gallup, a noted outlaw then living in this place and after hearing this report, we and each of us went and viewed the remains of the said Frank Pine as he lay dead on the ground where he was shot and before his body was removed for burial and futher deponents sayeth not. I would certainly be interested in more information about this event. Link: Thomas Family Genealogy URL: <http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=tyrilla>
