Posted on: Page Co. Ia Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Page?read=192 Surname: MATICE, McCREARY ------------------------- William (1815-1892) and Mary (McCreary) MATICE were enumerated in the 1860 census of Nebraska Twp., Page Co., IA. In the 1850 census the family was in Pike Twp, Fulton Co., OH. One of my sources says that they were in Michigan around 1853-1857, where their daughter Mary C. MATICE was born in 1854. I would like to know where in Michigan she was born. The name could also be spelled Mattice. Any information on this family welcome.

Is there any possibility someone has an 1870 census of Page County and can do a lookup? I am interested in two families -- Robert Kinkade and Elisha Kinkade -- in Harlan Township on page 432 of the census. If anyone is able to do this, my gratitude in advance. Don

Posted on: Page Co. Ia Obituaries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/PageObits?read=27 Surname: Offenhauser, Wilson ------------------------- While researching O. B. Wilson who married Elfleata Offenhauser, I found this obituary for an infant Offenhauser. I don't know if there is any connection to my Offenhauser, but since this infant was taken to Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa for burial, I assume his parents had roots in Page County Iowa. This came from The Moberly Daily Monitor newspaper, dated Monday December 9, 1907. Moberly is located in Randolph County, Missouri. "DIED OF INJURIES INFANT SON OF F. L. OFFENHAUSER DIED YESTERDAY FROM BURNS RECEIVED LAST WEEK. Ralph Espy (sic) Offenhauser, the three year old son of F. L. and Lulu Offenhauser, died yesterday morning at 6:15 o'clock at the family residence No. 609 Vincil street, of burns received last week. Last Thursday the child caught fire while playing about the stove and its mother in extinguishing the blaze had her hands badly burned. The child was not thought to be seriously injured and its death yesterday morning was a great shock to the devoted parents. The remains will be taken to Shenancoah, Iowa, tomorrow evening on No. 1 and the funeral will be held there on Wednesday." If this information rings a bell with anyone, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Doras

First of all, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Paul R. Sarrett Jr. for his work in putting all the Page County genealogy information on the internet. I do appreciate his hard work. He has provided me with infomation regarding my ggrandparents (John and Nancy McCreary) that I would probably not otherwise had. Keep up the good work, I know I am not the only one that appreciates what you are doing. Jack Benger
