Mary Louise Wood was born on April 19, 1928 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Adrian G. and Lillie R. Illingworth. She graduated in 1945 from Red Oak High School and on August 6, 1947, she was united in marriage to William J. Wood in Vista, California. Mary was a homemaker and worked many years for Loomis Abstract Company in Red Oak and also for Phil Armknecht Law Offices. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her husband, Bill; four sons and their wives, Steve and Linda Wood of Villisca, Iowa, Mike and Geri Wood of Emerson, Iowa, Joe and Pattie Wood of Mooresville, Indiana and Jim and Karla Wood of Red Oak, Iowa and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, John Illingworth of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Funeral services for Mary Wood were held on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Red Oak with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel in Red Oak.
