The pastor, Rev. Wm. Shoemaker will have charge of the services and interment will be made in the Glenwood cemetery. After several months illness, Mrs. Sarah L Pitzer, formerly of Glenwood, passed away at the age of 79 years and 8 months. Mrs. Pitzer was born near Greencastle, Indiana and with her parents moved to Glenwood while she was yet a young girl. She was a sister to Walter and Thomas Wright, both residents of Glenwood at the time, but who died a number of years ago. In 1870 she married Emery H Pitzer. Mr. Pitzer died in 1895 at the age of 57 years from complications arising from his service as a soldier of the Civil war. Mrs. Pitzer was the mother of four sons and four daughters, seven of them living. Mrs. Phoebe Curry of Red Oak, Iowa; Archie of Red Oak, Iowa; Hugh and Edgar of Logan, Okla.; Eva of Walthill, Nebr.; and Nellie and Lalie of Logan, Okla. She also had two sisters living, Mrs. Phoebe Pitzer, wife of Newton B Pitzer and Nannie E Wright both of Smith Center Kansas. Mrs. Pitzer and her husband were members of the Baptist church of Glenwood until his death and her removal from Glenwood in 18?8. Her children also grew up under the guiding influence of this church. She leaves true friends wherever she has lived, who love her for her quiet devoted Christian life. Mrs. Pitzer exerted a wonderful influence over the lives of her children and near friends by her life of loving service. Through her uplifting influence she has drawn all her children to accept the Christian religion which is a worthy monument to such a life.
