I believe their were several dozen burials there. George Turner had owned land at the ferry crossing, but died there after only a few years in Mills County, having immigrated from England. Peter Sarpy was administer of his estate. His grand-daughter wrote that the boys tried to dig them up but that the Missouri flooded too quickly washing away the whole area, coffins were seen floating downriver, etc. I'm familiar with the Gowens/Turner cemetery, Elizabeth E. was wife of Freelove Turner (one of George Turner's sons), George was their son. Both died from an outbreak of typhoid. Thanks for your help.
