Nancy, To the best of my knowledge, Iowa did not have an 1875 census. There were many census enumerations taken earlier than this for specific counties, but I think that 1856 was the only complete state census (and the earliest for Mills county) before the one taken in 1885 and another in 1895. If you know of an 1875 census would appreciate you telling us where you have heard about it. It certainly would be helpful. I am, at this time, transcribing the town of Malvern from the 1885 census. I am almost finished with a paper copy but then will have get it ready for Margaret to upload to our web pages, might be a while yet. I am hoping to eventually do the entire county but think that will be quite a ways in the future. Maybe those on the List would have a suggestion on what township or town I should do next?
