Cay, Just want to let you know the Mills County site is about the most helpful I've come across. Thanks for all the great, USEABLE information. I think the way you did the 1856 census is fine and easy to follow. If you're ever digging through the 1885 census, could you keep an eye out for DOLPH, Aaron and Josiah especially, in White Cloud Township, and RIDDELL, Samuel T. in Indian Creek Township (Hastings). I would also be interested in knowing if there is an obit on file for Aaron Dolph, who died in Cass County, Neb. on 18 Feb 1887. He was buried in Mills County. He would be considered a "pioneer" since he was in the county in the 1840s and was one of the first landowners there. Look forward to hearing from you or from others researching these names.
