Scott - thanks so much for your help. I am looking for a Catherine/Kathryn/Katie Mackey and son Walter. Walter died around 1854; Kathryn died around 1859. They lived somewhere around Anderson twp/Mud creek area, I think, although I am uncertain as they evidently rented their farm. This is located south of Glenwood, Iowa, in Mills county, SW Iowa in the beautiful Loess hills. There are also other abandoned country cemeteries in this area, some with GAR veterans. > >Scott > > >============================== >Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 >Source for Family History Online. Is this the Katherine Mackey, wife of John, listed in the 1856 census of Nishnabotna Township? Children listed are Albert, Joan, Wm. Not listed in the Mills County Cemetery book although several Mackeys are. Nishnabotna Twp. was later Mud Creek and then Anderson. Probably you have already found this on the Mills web site.
