    3. If you haven't been to the Mills pages for a while we have several new things there. A new name index for Solomon's History which was originally transcribed by Bev Boileau and sent to us by Joe De Gisi and obituaries from the Rheba Raine Collection, sent in by Eldon Clark. Thanks to all who have contributed. How about the rest of you? Anything you have which would be of interest to other Mills researchers, we would like to have. The most exciting news is that Margaret now has the Search Engine working for all of our files. That means if you put the name you are looking for in the Search it will check all files - remember it must be spelled the same way as in the record. If you don't find what you think should be there, try other spellings. Ooops! Just had a note from Margaret that the Search Engine isn't working for her. It is for me, so we might still have some glitches. Cay -- Cay Merryman http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/

    2. Ollie Hilton died in Troy Township, Mills County on 26 Dec 1896, age 60, a widow who had resided in Mills County for 15 years. I am seeking any information about her, but especially her husband's name, and where she lived before 1881.

    3. The headstone in the Glenwood Cemetery says Ollie HELTON (sic) 7 Apr 1836 - 27 Dec 1896. That is in Section 3 Row 7 north to south, west to east. Perhaps you already found her in the 1895 census at this URL http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/Census/1895cs/95lyonsa.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/Census/1895cs/95lyonsb.htm On the 2nd URL is one Peter Helton and family. This is in Lyons Township. There is no Troy Township in Mills County. It is the 1885 census which might be helpful but unfortunately it is missing on the microfilm of the Mills County 1885 census. -- Cay Merryman http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/ Ruthilton@aol.com wrote: > > Ollie Hilton died in Troy Township, Mills County on 26 Dec 1896, age 60, a > widow who had resided in Mills County for 15 years. 3. The 1905 Mills marriage records are now on our web site. Check them out. Please remember that our search engine is not checking the additions for the past couple of months (or more). We haven't figured out why but working on it. 2. I have an old photo of a man and woman that I can't identify. They are believed to be members of the Briley family. The bottom of the photo reads "Newberg. Glenwood, Iowa". Does anyone have any idea how I could find the years Newberg was in business?? Having those dates may help identify the couple in the photo. Thanks! Margaret Crawford

Maxine ----- Original Message ----- From: GSWeston@aol.com Sent: Saturday, October 27, 2001 12:15 PM To: IAMILLS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [IAMILLS] Glenwood cemetery look up As Cay said, Nancy is buried next to John. Also, it shows that John served in Company D, 39th Iowa Infantry in the Civil War. Also next to Nancy on the other side is Sarah Parr ETHERINGTON, 1874-1966, and next to her is Aaron PARR, d. 5 Sept 1893. 3. Hi Listers, Margaret has uploaded the 1895 Rawles Township Census. This one has been fun for me as I see so many of the families I heard my mother talk about. It was her love of Mills County which has kept my head in a microfilm reader for the last several years. It's been fun. Good Hunting. Cay -- Cay Merryman http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/
