Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nk.2ADI/838.1.1 Message Board Post: I kind of remember someone telling me about the few number of names for St Marys cemetery. I believe their were several dozen burials there. George Turner had owned land at the ferry crossing, but died there after only a few years in Mills County, having immigrated from England. Peter Sarpy was administer of his estate. His grand-daughter wrote that the boys tried to dig them up but that the Missouri flooded too quickly washing away the whole area, coffins were seen floating downriver, etc. I'm familiar with the Gowens/Turner cemetery, Elizabeth E. was wife of Freelove Turner (one of George Turner's sons), George was their son. Both died from an outbreak of typhoid. Thanks for your help.

    2. Cay Merryman
    3. We are happy to announce that Waubonsie Cemetery is now online. There are still a few minor corrections to be made but Margaret will have that done soon. We all should be grateful to Scott Larson for his work in walking the cemeteries. One day we will have most of the smaller cemeteries online for you Mills County researchers. If you spot any errors be sure to let Margaret or I know about them. Working without a proof reader is not easy so probably any mistakes are mine in transcribing. We have had several people volunteer to help with various things but unfortunately they don't live in Mills County which makes it harder. Do any of you build web pages? We could use some advise there....don't all volunteer at once :-) Cay and Margaret -- Cay Merryman http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/
