Thank you, Anne, but I don't think so. My Darwin only had one adopted daughter and died in Detroit, Michigan. I'm looking for any connection in Mills Co. IA he may have had to my Mitchell's from there if they travelled to Hitchcock Co. NE together late 1870's. Thanks for the Babbitt info. I've tried the Babbitt Family Association without a response, but that's been a long time ago - I could certainly try again. Thank you for responding! But you are welcome to contact the Babbitt Family Association at http://www.babbitt.org/ Also check out Ronald Paul Babbitt's homepage at http://home.carolina.rr.com/rbabbitt/ You may want to post on the Babbitt Family Mail List, I know there was a Silas Babbitt family that was also in the SW Iowa area with a lot of offspring. My Babbitt was from IL and moved to Mills to raise her family with Mr. Lyman Hooker. You can also try Genforum.com posting board for Babbitt. You don't per chance have a Darwin H. Babbitt who was in the Civil War? I'm not directly researching Babbitt, but there is a direct connection with Darwin to my MITCHELL / LINCOLN from Mills Co., so if you know of Darwin maybe you have a clue for me. Keep those surnames coming. In less than 24 hours we have heard from 35 people and have well over 125 surnames. Since we are thinking of having a cutoff date for this first submission you will want to get your names either to me or the List SOON. One thing I forgot in my original message. Do you have a Home Page? It needs to have Mills County connections and we will need to review it for those before adding it to our upcoming Home Page list. I am sorry I forgot to include this invitation before but if you have one send it along to me please. -- Cay Merryman http://www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/
