He had a wife Phebe and a daughter Nellie.They were in Mahaska County(Prairie) in the 1870's. I found him on a KS((Wilson Co.) Census for 1880. In 1880 my great, great, grandfather Jame Martin (Mahaska Co./Prairie)left his family and ran off with a Phebe Davis. If this is the same Davis family, and he is a Baptist minister, I would imagine that would be a huge scandal in Mahaska Co. This Davis Family lived near my great-great grandfather. The incident would have taken place in the late 1870's or early 1880's. James Martin and Phebe Davis married in June 1880.
