This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Paul and Armstrong families from Mahaska county, Iowa (Fremont) Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Fl.2ADE/1860 Message Board Post: Does anyone have information on this family? They were traveling on the Oregon road (trail) circa 1862. Mentioned in article about Melissa Paul English and her parents, George and Verlinda (Callaway) Paul. Article states that when the wagon train broke up in the Grande Ronde valley, the Pauls and Armstrongs came north together. No mention of where the Armstrongs settled, but the Pauls settled along Whiskey Creek, near Hogseye Creek. Most of the people on this train were related and I'm interested in how the Armstrongs and the Pauls were connected.
Hi, I have a ancestor who's name was William Armstrong Hill. Since back, it was not unusual to use and in-law or friends last name as a middle name for a child. I am pretty sure that my Hill's were somehow connected to the Armstrongs.
