Jeanne, My family had a Samuel Hinds born in 1834, Beaver County, PA. I do not know what became of him. His father's name was Sampson. Mother's name was Mary (Piersol). I am related through a 2nd cousin to a Hinds (or Hind) family. They were in Kansas and Iowa and I believe, later, Missouri. Male names in the family were Samuel - Clarence - Albert. Albert was b. 1906, Clarence in 1882 & although I don't have Samuel's birth date, he was Clarence's father. Albert's son was named Tilton Hal Hinds ========== If not Clif's family, anybody else know this Hinds family? They are related to Knowler, Surber, and others. Thanks for your reply, Clif. I don't have any direct information about "Samuel" or "Sampson." The time line is about right, but I really know very little about this family. I'm trying to learn more about their connection to my family name which is SURBER. Or to the family of Fred Knowler who I think lived in Mahaska County.
