Here's the information I have on them: Alva Cochran Tanner (b. 1834- August 9, 1863 - Civil War death) m. May 12, 1859 Mary A. Bolton (b. 1842 in IL - d. in IA in 1920s). They had two children, Orin b. 1860 and Infant Tanner. Mary remarried after Alva's death. She married James Amos Wymore on May 10, 1866 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Amos was a member of Co. C, 15th Iowa Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War and had served with Alva and his cousin, Walter Tanner, both whom were killed. Amos and Mary lived in White Oak Township near Rose Hill. They became the parents of seven children, of whom Julian and Hattie lived to adulthood; five died in infancy. Hannah Sophronia Tanner (B. Feb. 18, 1839 in Ohio and died in Iowa). She married 1st John Bolton b. abt. 1839. They had one son Frank Bolton b. 1863. John must have died by 1867 because Hannah remarried Martin V. Bump Dec. 1867 and in 1868 Fred Bump was born. I have more information about the Bumps, I just need to look it up! Let me know if I can be of anymore help.
