Surnames: MORRIS, BARNES Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Fl.2ADE/650.656.1 Message Board Post: Long shot!!!! I typed in Duannah on rootsweb and out of the 25 that came up yours caught my eye..so here goes! Duannah ? married William Morris, where and when I an not sure. She was born about 1810 in PA from 1850 census info. William was born in VA as well as their oldest children: Asa and William Jr. The family ended up in Owen Co., IN. Wm died in 1846 or so and Duannah in 1855ish. Early on there was a Richard Morris that homesteaded land in Owen Co. IN with Hugh Barnes. The family was in Morgan Co. IN before Owen (I think) and some moved to Clay and maybe even Putnam. Then Wm and Dunnah's children seem to run back and forth to have a children in IL then back to IN. Wm. Jr. had a son named Jehu that died early. Alot of nothing, I know but I am in hopes that somehow all this "might" somehow help with Duannah's maiden name. Was she maybe a BARNES? Just a shot in the dark. Thank you! Debbie

Some of the body's were relocated but quite a few are still there. The ones that were relocated were taken to Old White Cemetary at the north edge of town. I have been to the back yards of the people that live there and if you look closely you can see indentations of where some are still buried there. As far as records go i have found that there are none but if you have the death date of your ancestor's you will find that in the death record's at the court house they are listed as buried in Old cemetary and not Old white cemetary, but the death record's only go back to the 1800's i think 1820 is as far back as it goes. In our library you can look in the 1906 mahaska co history book and read an article on the man who donated the acre of ground for the cemetary and a little about the cemetary. If i can be of any futher help let me know. Eddie Hoover
