    1. WHARTON, SIGAFOOS, AKERMAN, MASTERS
    2. Jeanne Surber
    3. While looking through some of my mother's collection of old recipes, clippings, etc., I found the name "Lulu WHARTON" who had given my grandmother a recipe for date pudding probably about 1920 or so. In the 1910 census I found what I believe to be Lulu's family in Mahaska County, Cedar Township, living near the Sigafoos and Akerman families. I know these were all acquaintances and probably neighbors of my grandmother, whose name was Mary MASTERS. Lulu Wharton was born about 1900 and the hand written recipe (probably in Lulu's own writing) probably dates from around 1920 or so. If anyone from this family wants this memento of Lulu, I'll be glad to send it to you. I don't really know anything about these families (other than Masters) except that I've heard the names in conversation during my childhood. I think Lulu's real name may have been Lucy. This was included in her Widows Civil War pension file based on her second marriage to Marion Saunders. The final decree states that she was the innocent & injured party. Lydia also got custody of their son and Harrison was forever barred from seeing or having any control over the boy. Harrison StClair did not appear for the final proceedings. I need help in locating the entire divorce proceedings that would list the grounds for the divorce and possible information about Harrison StClair. Harrison is the brick wall in my St Clair research. 1. Hughbanks Marriage
    2. I'm on a quest to get the marriage record for my great-great grandfather, Andrew Jackson Hughbanks (abt 1841-1922). I know that he married Pauline Theodate Jones (1851-1919). They were married on November 15, 1869 in Oskaloosa. What is the best way to go about getting this record? I think I could get the microfilm from LDS, but I don't feel like waiting three months or so. Do any of you know if the Mahaska County Courthouse would look this up for me? Thanks for any advice. Surnames: McCombs & Hoffmire Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Fl.2ADE/1804.1.1 Message Board Post: Jason, Thank you. That is what the census said. Monroe Co., I believe is the Albia area. My Aunt married Virgil McCombs. They are buried in the Union Mills Cemetery at Union Mills. This town and Cemetery are east of New Sharon, IA. Virgil's brother and his parents are also buried at Union Mills. We cannot figure out why they were buried there. Uncle Virgle was born at Olivet, Mahaska Co., IA. There were a lot of McCombs that lived in the Olivet area. My Uncle Virgil's parents, George and Ella Hoffmire McCombs are also buried at Union Mills. Is there anyone out there, that is related to George and Ella McCombs. As far as I know, George & Ella only had the 2 sons, Virgle Ellsworth & Harold Bertrand "Bert" McCombs. My cousin is the last living child of Virgle and Thelma Wilson McCombs, and I am trying to help him find the "rest" of his McCombs family. Thank you LInda
