It might be worth a phone call to the Mahaska County county clerk/recorder's office to inquire whether there is a birth index for that period. If so, it should be a relatively simple matter for them to look up any McKIM births between 1900 and Lucy's death date. Also, Lucy's death certificate might be enlightening; one scenario that comes to mind is the possibility that she died in childbirth.

The others that I found were John Sanford and Mary Ann (M) Barnett, their daughters Tymandra Barnett-Besco (and her daughter Navada), Jerushia Barnett-Whitsel and Susan Barnett-Logue. They were all in the oldest and highest part of Highland Cemetery. If anyone has any information of the whereabouts of Hannibal and Penina's graves, contact me at dmschaef@msn.com. Thanks and have a great day!!! Marsha

I know that one of the children is Erma McKim who was living with her father in the 1910 census, but she wasn't living with him in the 1920 census. She probably went to Oregon before that. But I would like to know about the second child. This child was not listed in the 1910 and 1920 census with Elmer McKim. I'm guessing that he/she died before 1910, but not sure.

Interested in parents and siblings of Albert Van Heukelon and his spouse Wilhelmina Van der Harr (Haar). Married about 1865 probably near Pella, Iowa. Reported to have farmed near Rose Hill, Iowa for 30 years, moving to New Sharon, Iowa about 1911. Albert lived April 7, 1840 to January 20, 1912. Wilhelmina lived February 15, 1942 to January 02, 1923. Both buried in Hopwell Cemetery, Rose Hill. Albert may have brought 2 Van Heukelon nephews from Holland who settled near Lighten or Pella, Iowa. I have much information on their decendants, but very little on their ancestors. Thanks

I've not been able to find any reference to a town of that name. My aunt told me last week, her birth cert gives Deep River as his birthplace. If there ever was a Rosebud, town, church, homestead, Post Office, stage stop, whatever, we can't find it from here. 10 states show towns of that name on Mapquest, Iowa is not one of them. And, he definitely was born in Iowa. I wonder if anyone in Deep River knows what it might mean? Thanks for checking though. I really appreciate that!
