I am researching the descendants of Rudolph Slezak (b: June 15, 1829 in Bohemia d: June 26, 1886 Prescott, IA) and Josephine Motaf (b: 1828 in Bohemia m:? d: 1911 in Iowa). They had 7 children; I am descended from his first born, Thomas (b: January 17, 1848 in Bohemia d: February 14, 1904 in Prescott, IA) who married Barbara Zajicha (or Zajicek). She was b: August 16, 1850 Bohemia, m: 1871 in Richmond, IA. and: March 18, 1923 Kolin, LA. I have plenty of information on all the children, grandchildren, etc. But my two brick walls are: 1) any information on Barbara Zajicek or her relations and 2) information on the Slezak family's move to the US from Bohemia c. 1863. Following the death of her husband, Barbara moved to Colin, LA with her youngest son. She remained there until she died March 18,1923. She is buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery.
