Hello Thelma, I did camp several days in Winterset last week and was able to get a lot of research in, as well as visit my grandmother. My mother and I also visited several cemeteries on Friday, and I found numerous Shoemaker headstones in both Winterset and West Branch Cemeteries. There might have been one in Moon Cemetery as well. I took photos of these and will send them to you when I get them back. I will scan them in and send them to you in an e mail. If you want the actual photos after you see them, just send me your address and I will mail them out to you. I'll probably have them by this weekend. Doug PS, I saw a very old plat map (before 1912 but no date was found on it). It showed Wm. Shoemaker owning ~160 acres in section 32 of Grand River Township, Madison County. This land was later owned by Francis Marion Ritter who sold it ca. 1839 to my grandfather, Charles Cameron. My mother grew up on that farm. thelma wrote: > > I have a William M.
