    3. Joel and his family did not stop in Illinois that I know of. They were in Madison County, Iowa, by 1854 as on the 1855 census Madison County they state they have lived there one year. Joel and his wife Ellen Clark did not have any daughters but Joel had two daughters by his first wife, Louisa Anderson, who died in Indiana abt 1840. The daughters names were Sarah b. 1833 and Mary Anna b. Oct 1836. Mary Anna John Johnson and 2nd Thomas Ruenkle, she died in Madison County in 1914.
