My Madison County ancestors BISHOP, Andrew J. IN>IL>IA Seeking information and descendants of Andrew Jefferson Bishop b., ca 1829, IN, m. Sarah J. LOYD, Dec. 1, 1855. He died after 1900 but bef 1910. Resided with wife and children in Winterset, Madison, IA and Lewis Twp, Pottawattamie, IA. May have briefly resided in Muscatine and/or Mahaska Cos. IA also. Children: Rosetta I. b. April 6, 1858 IA, m. James Dixon METCALF, Aug. 25, 1878, she died Feb 26, 1926, Akron, Summit, OH. James, b. 1860 IL; Dora b. ca 1861 IA; Lillie b. abt. Aug 1869; Fanny O. b. ca 1873; William S. b. ca 1875; Hattie H. b. ca 1877. IA All the children, except James were born in Madison Co. IA. On the 1900 census in Pottawattamie Co. James Bishop was living with his parents and had 3 children. Everett b Feb 1888, Elsa b. Jan or Jun 1890 and Samuel b. Sept 1891. My brick wall is getting sometype of documented proof of Andrews relationship to his parents Jonathan K. Bishop and Mary Bishop (they were cousins who married) Also, Noah Bishop of prominent in Madison County 1850-1870's I believe was a brother or cousin to Jonathan. They are descended from the Symth / Washington County VA line of BISHOP's originally from Connecticut. I would very much like to correspond with descendants of the above.
