My Madison County surname is PALMER. Charles and Hannah (prob JUDKINS) PALMER moved to Madison County from the state of Maine sometime between 1867 and 1870. According to the 1900 census records, Charles, age 76, was a "hotel keeper" living in Walnut Township, Madison County, Iowa. They had 8 children--Josiah, Goram, Ellen, Almon, Bradbury, Cora, Cyrus, and one whose name and gender remains unknown to me right now. Almon married Della Knight, and they eventually moved to Kamiah, Idaho with two of four children. This is my husband's maternal line of which he knows very little.
