Welcome to the Madison County Mailing List. Wells was on the north border of Grand River Twp. very close to the Adair County line and almost in Webster Twp. No mention of the town in the 1875 Andreas Atlas but the "Hawkeye Heritage", Vol. 5, 1970 on page 10 lists Wells as an abandoned town which was a post office from 1871 to 1896 in section 6, Grand River Twp.
