Dear Listers, Last week we did some reminiscing about Madison County and how it used to be decades ago. This week I received some clippings from the Des Moines Register sent by a Madison County relative and the headline was "New Roads and New People Changing Madison County" "Suburbia is knocking at Madison County's door, and money is beginning to flow to its beautiful hills. Drive south on a gravel road near Cumming, and the early fruits of development emerge over a dusty hill." A couple have built a $625,000 home on a hill overlooking a polo field and have invested another $660,000 in their Polo Pointe equestrian development. They are developing a 280 acre development. (Can you believe this is the sleepy Madison County we were talking about last week?) The article goes on to say that this is the first trickle of development money that is expected to pour into Madison County during the next decade.
