Hi, The recording of births didn't start until mid-1880's, about August, so unless it is recorded in your immediate family history, like a bible, etc., the chances are not too good of finding an official recorded record of any birth until after 1880. Also, I think that goes for the whole state of Iowa. Cay, can you jump in here and help a bit with any more suggestions for finding early birth records in Iowa?
