Here is another son of James RALSTON. He and a son died in OK in a tornado in 1905. His wife Mary HAMILTON had died several years before, but I don't know when. Anyone know anything about her? As far as I know there are no descendants left in this line. Cora Ralston and Orestes Stone had no children. I don't know about the third Ralston child, though. Jeannie Smith
Hi, I have James RALSTON who emig. from OH ca 1859. He farmed there until his death ca 1865. I believe his son John M. (Mathers?) Ralston took over his farmland after James' death. CENSUS: 1870 Fed., Madison Co., IA: John RALSTON age 38, m., b. VA, farmer; + Hattie age 32 b. OH , Mollie age 8, b. IA, Emma age 7 b. IA. Both John and Mollie RALSTON were shown on the 1902 plat map of Madison Co.: Jno. Ralston, 160 ac., section 14, Twp. 76, Range 25(?); next to Mollie Ralston Unknown whether either Emma or Mollie married or to whom. Anyone know who Hattie is or what became of Mollie or Emma? For those of you inquiring about the Beall line, especially descendants of Colmore. There is lots of information on the web site http://www.familysearch.org Click on Custom Search and on that page click on Ancestral File. Not my line but I have done work on it for others. It might not have more than the web sites mentioned in earlier e-mails but it seems good as far as I know. Cay Merryman

Hello, I am trying to find proof of death for Lucian Ellsworth MARTIN. He was born about 1863 in Illinois but living in Winterset, Madison Co., by 1888. That's when he married Emma Belle NEWTON (1868, Winterset - 1955, Des Moines). According to family bible, Lucian died February 24, 1896. But, to date I have found no death record. Also have HOOTON, DEVAULT, ULSH from this area. Thanks for any suggestions! Ginger Brengle gbrengle@mindspring.com

Go to the Ninian Bell Web site or the Alexander Beall site. You will find a bunch of Bealls. My gggrandmother was a daughter of Colmore Beall. She may have died in Winterset Iowa about 1870-1873 as Rebecca Smith, wife of John Smith. She was from a family of 19 children, and another Zephaniah had 24 children. Some one probably has some idea about your Bealls. The name is often called BELL.

My bookmarked page for Blair Cemetery did not link today either. I have no idea what happened to it. I think Judy Wight Branson put those pages together. Are you out there someplace Judy. I hope I have your name right. I am sorry, I had a computer crash, I lost my address book plus my bookmarked pages. Our County Coordintor resigned. It has been a frustrating time. Hello Thelma, I did camp several days in Winterset last week and was able to get a lot of research in, as well as visit my grandmother. My mother and I also visited several cemeteries on Friday, and I found numerous Shoemaker headstones in both Winterset and West Branch Cemeteries. There might have been one in Moon Cemetery as well. I took photos of these and will send them to you when I get them back. I will scan them in and send them to you in an e mail. If you want the actual photos after you see them, just send me your address and I will mail them out to you. I'll probably have them by this weekend. Doug PS, I saw a very old plat map (before 1912 but no date was found on it). It showed Wm. Shoemaker owning ~160 acres in section 32 of Grand River Township, Madison County. This land was later owned by Francis Marion Ritter who sold it ca. 1839 to my grandfather, Charles Cameron. My mother grew up on that farm. thelma wrote: > > I have a William M.
